Chinese Flagship is an intensive IU undergraduate language program that is compatible with any major, including area studies, business, music, informatics, and any other program offered at Indiana University.
Students in the Chinese Flagship Program complete Chinese coursework at IU combined with one-on-one tutoring, summer language study, and a Capstone year abroad in China.
Chinese Flagship is a federally-funded program that provides extensive scholarship opportunities for our students' summer study abroad and Capstone year abroad. While this funding is not guaranteed, the typical student in our program does receive substantial funding for summer study abroad, domestic summer language study, and their Capstone year in China.
We encourage students of all levels of Chinese to apply for our program. Students with a Chinese background, heritage learners, and students with zero background in Chinese are all welcome to apply.
